Working at Den Berk Délice: Growing Together

What does "growing together" really mean?

For us, growing together is about much more than the growth of our flavourful tomatoes, the personal development of each employee, or the growth of our organisation. It's also about the way we work together every day—supporting one another, taking responsibility, and moving forward as one team.

This is also reflected in the results of our recent employee survey. With an impressive participation rate of 92%, we gained valuable insights into how our colleagues experience working at Den Berk Délice. No less than 86% of respondents indicated that they are satisfied with their job. These results confirm that our current approach is appreciated and worth continuing. Our people remain at the heart of everything we do, and together we strengthen our positive and sustainable working environment every day.

But growing together isn't just reflected in numbers. You can also see it in the moments we share.

In March, for example, our colleagues in our Moroccan greenhouses came together to celebrate the end of Ramadan. We believe it's important to create space for the traditions and moments that matter to our people.

More recently, over 30 colleagues joined the starting line of the Hoogstraten street run. Everyone ran at their own pace, but lining up together—wearing our red team shirts—created an immediate sense of team spirit.

We also enjoy taking part in initiatives from outside the company. During the Flemish campaign Kom van dat gat af ("Get Off the Couch"), fun activities took place across our different locations. Colleagues shared videos to inspire one another, while also adding a bit of friendly competition. A healthy competitive spirit is simply part of Den Berk Délice.

Connection also remains a priority in our day-to-day operations. We believe it's important that everyone understands where we're heading as an organisation. That's why we organise team meetings twice a year, where we share Den Berk Délice's results, ambitions, and goals with all our colleagues.

These values also come together every year at our staff party. On 31 May, colleagues from all our locations gathered at De Caron in Merksplas. It's an opportunity to connect outside the workplace, catch up in a different setting, and enjoy an evening together. A live performance by our COO Wouter, accompanied by a violinist, set the tone for a fantastic evening and quickly got everyone onto the dance floor.
